No walkies

Mum:

Hi All,

Things have been a bit different the last few days.  Dad has a stinking cold, which I am trying not to catch.  It has been raining on and off.  I have twanged my Achilles tendon a bit - it has been hurting for a week so a bit of rest seems a good idea.  The mutts haven't had a walk in daysanddaysanddays (to quote them).

The rest seems to be doing my tendon a power of good, which is great.  Dad isn't getting any better (we are hoping we will see a light at the end of the tunnel tomorrow), but he is still going to work.  At the moment he is just working or resting.  I am the entire Entertainment Branch and our playground is inside the house.

They are less than happy, but coping.

Oh, and did you know?  Cato, Tara, (Sidney) and I have been blogging for a whole year!  Our anniversary happened sometime in late January, and we didn't even notice!  :roflmao:

Take care of that injury........I had a ruptured achilles tendon and it took YEARS to stop bothering me.

Your prescription is to rest......and rest and rest some more........Mr. C is much like my husband.....he continues to work regardless. Hope you both get to feeling better SOON.........Cato and Tara be patient for a bit longer and you will be back to your walks......so hard for them to understand when  a routine comes to a halt.......

Thanks All!  I will pass your well wishes on to the restless mutts.  We spend most of the evening on the living room floor wrestling, toy throwing and playing tug'o'sausages.  Poor Cato gets tired twice as quickly as Tara, and then she tries to continue the game by biting and pulling on his tail!  I have to distract her at that point.

And we are having to tie her to the desk or me, during a lot of the rest of the time, or she just goes outside into the garden and barks.  All that suppressed BOUNCE.

The Achilles tendon is an old injury from my sporty school days.  Quite surprised it has flared up again, to be honest, but I'm treating it MUCH better than I did back in the day, because I have actually informed myself (thank you Mr Google), so I know how not to aggravate it this time. :roflmao:  Have even bought myself a folding walking stick (can't see any potential problems with the mutts and the stick, can you?:stretcher: ).  The pain usually starts half way through the walk, so now I am equipped!  I will just whip out the stick and hobble back to the car.  Weather permitting we will go on a little trundle today.

Oh, and we are planning a visit down to Grandma and Grandad's on Sunday-Monday, leaving Dad here working.  So that will give them 5 days of entertainment with explorations of his garden, the bird feeders, the boating lake, and possibly new places and people!!! - and showing off for grandparents, won't it? :) The only reason we won't go, are blizzard conditions or me catching Dad's cold.

Well, we just got back from our first walk in 4 days!

Ooooh the sniffing!  Ooooh the widdling!  Ooooh the rugby tackling and BOUNCING and clambering and bumping, rolling and charging!

I forgot both my walking stick AND the camera, so we have no pics to commemorate this event, but I can tell you both beasties and I feel much better.  Unfortunately, Dad is worse today than yesterday, but is still insisting on going to work. :doctor:

They are all 3 watching snooker now, while I plug back into my work. :crash:
