savri dream

Me and Alfie went to our puppy class on Monday, Now my little boy is quite a smart cookie at home does all kind of tricks and pays attention pretty well. Oh my not the case at puppy class he was so distracted by all the other dogs with their owners, i was the last to arrive that's me always running late so all the other dogs had pretty much sniffed each other. Alfie went through the door and started barking his little head off and was a little sheepish so i'm assuming this was a nervous bark. As i say when the class got under way he was really distracted it made me realise how much work i need to do with him to get him socialised, at playtime when we let our dogs off the leads i felt sorry for the little guy, there was only six in the class but all the other dogs were four times his size you could see that he wanted to play but when the other dogs ran after him he wanted to get behind my legs, at one point all the other dogs were round him sniffing and he just stood totally still which the trainer said that was quite good manners. We have started clicker training and he's responding quite well at home, i'm very hopeful about the class and i do think that Alfie enjoyed himself. We'll see what happens next week, I gave Alfie a haircut too so just thought i'd stick some pictures on.

What a cutie!

My experience also was that the first night of class was really hard. Thanks for letting us know how it went!

Emma's mommy

Thanks for the update and pics. I'm sure Alfie will do fine in his class. It sounds like you both had fun. Alfie's cut is really cute too.

Wicket's mom

Sounds like Alfie is not starting off to bad in his puppy class. Wicket was very vocal coming in when he went to classes too, but it got better towards the end. Thanks for the update!

You did a great job with his haircut, he looks fabulous!

Hi Terrie, wow, Alfie is a little doll baby. You will see he will get better at each class....first one is always a struggle cause every thing and every scent and every dog is new....hang in there, you will be so glad you did.
