JRMMJONES 28
Ok, Presley is a really good dog. She has really good days. But on occasion, she will plop beside me on the couch, and try to dig a hole to China on my arm, my leg, or where my butt meets the couch. These days, I call her buttdigger. Turdburgler is her other name, because when she does poo in the house, she likes to put it in her mouth to hid it so I can't pick it up. She usually only does this if it's super cold, or pouring down rain. But this digging, it hurts. I have been crating her when she does it, because the NO command doesn't seem to help. Actually, SIT and PEE are the only commands she will really do for me. There are no classes here for obedience. I would have to drive 2 hours every Saturday to go to a class in Austin. Though, I know I should probably just bite the bullet and sign her up for a class. Anyone else have a buttdigger??
Marlen 5,860
Nah, not really but both of mine like getting my attention by "scratching" my thighs or arms lol I think it'd e funny seeing her do it, but I bet it hurts if she's doing it for long. How about putting a long leash on her and tugging it, saying "No" and getting her off the couch with the help of the leash? Eventually, she should get the message that "If I do it, I get down from the couch, and I don't like that" lol
Sophie's Haven 17,464
I have two that will take their paws to get my attention to tell me they want MY ATTENTION to rub the belly or play fetch or it is snack time. If this is not the issue I would just keep placing her off the couch until she gets the hint.
