Mum:

So this month's photo vote is for Anything Easter.

And all my stuff seems to involve mud at this time of year... so why fight it? lol

Tara:

Don't see why we have to do this.  I already trampled on daffs during our walk.

Nope.  don't wanna.

Oh.  alright then.  Maybe I will sniff it.

Ewww!  It tickles!!!

Cato:

Remind me why we are doing this again, Mum?

Mum:

Treats all round!  (including a very long suffering Dad!)

And towels.

And the hair dryer.

Unfortunately, the bath will have to wait til Friday.  We are forecast more rain, and mud.  So they are probably going to get into this state again tomorrow... and the next day... and the next...

Tara and Cato.....come to Calistoga, California.  People spend a lot of $$$ to take hot mud baths with mineral water there......I know, cuz I did it once.  It was just about the most horrible experience of my life.......but I won't go there right now.

OK but you can't say something like that and then not go into details, you just can't! ;)

They did.   :roflmao:     I just love watching them mud-romp.  It kind of fills me to overflowing with love for them :cheezy:

mind you, even after towelling, drying, and then letting them mop the last off on their soon-to-be-washed beds, they still have a grey tinge. Lol!

This is why we have a covered run.  If I had to deal with my entire pack like that on a daily basis when it rains or snows, I would quickly give up lol!

Goodness! Haven't heard that phrase in years. :)  Is it a US phrase?

actually, I am scratching my head here in wet, soggy, miserable Lincolnshire.

there is something very weird happening.

i still haven't bathed them!  Every day I look at the weather forecast, and every day it is grim. So every day, I say ''I will bathe them tomorrow because they won't stay clean for more than a day'.

we go out for a walk, they get wet and soggy.  I towel dry them before we get in the car.  They soak moisture into the car beds.  We get home and they get a few mins under a hair dryer, and a thorough brush in the evening when they are bone dry.  With Wen leave in conditioner spray.

but the weird thing is that they aren't getting any dirtier.

they were filthy after this photoshoot.  Pretty obvious, eh?  But it all brushed off, and after 4 more days of rainy walking, they are actually clean looking.  No worse than a few day after bath would normally look.

will try and get some good shots today to show you.  It is bizarre.

I have to say, it had crossed my mind that they look clean, later in your photos. That's really good news.

Whats Wen? Is it a doggy spray?

Wen is a leave in conditioner spray (i get it from eBay).  American shopping telly brand i think - natural oils, lovely smell.

I was given some originally, never used it, and tried it on the dogs - was delighted. :roflmao:

To be fair, neither of them actually look white.  Tara is blue-crisp-white for about 2 days after a bath.  Then it gently slides into creamy white.

now, after all that mud, they are both definitely creamy, with slightly grey-cream lower legs.  Although not as bad as some of my interior electric lit photos make them look.  They just look dreadful, but different lighting and the grey tinge virtually disappears.  Then Cato also has pink yeast stains on his feet.  The weather is looking up a bit, and it is 2+ weeks since their grooming, so even i cannot put thoses baths off much longer. Lol.

one of the things i am profoundly grateful is the lack of wet-dog smell.

no idea if it is shih tzus, C&T's diet (raw), the Wen, or the mud bath brushing, but they smell lovely.  No wet dogginess at all.

Don't know where that saying comes from but like all old time sayings they originated in England and came over with the Mayflower.

Hubby said it snowed yet again this morning for about 10 minutes and I got him to look at Thursday's forecast for the day I Return.....I better bottle all this Georgia sunshine and warmth...because I back in the deep freezer when I return....Hurry Up Spring and Summer
