SUNDAY 22nd May: Hot, sunny, Auntie Jane

Tara:

They took AGES at breakfast.  And every time I whined, Mum prodded me with her toe.  She made me stop!  Not fair!  I was just pointing out that they could talk boring stuff while we were walking and eating sausages!

Anyway, eventually we went to Foxy Park - but only after Mum had given away a piece of my sausage.  We were just getting to the Sausage Bit, away from the cafe, and before we got into the car, when Mum says 'Hello gorgeous!' to some fluffy Pomeranian.  And the Pom's Dad turns round and said 'Well, thank you!  I don't often get greeted like that nowadays.'  So they had a human laughy thing about it, and all the while I am waiting for my sausage, and Cato is Meerkatting.  And anyway, in the end, Mum gave a bit of sausage to the man, and the man gave it to the Pom, and I got less sausage.  Not fair.  I don't like greedy Poms.

But the walk woz good, even if I was starving for lack of sausage.

I went on a pigeon hunt.  Nearly got them, too.  Mum says I need to work on my stalking.

and Cato found a stick that was bigger than him.  So I beat him up.

But he was boring and hot and did wot Mum calls his Ghandi Thing.  I didn't really want the stick anyway.

Cato:

It was a hot walk.  Mum says we are really going to have to change times. :( Don't know if that means we won't see Auntie Jane so much. :(

The hole in the Entmoot has grown bigger!!!  Someone is definitely digging for treasure.

And this would make a nice den, wouldn't it?

Remember those hosta sprouts?

And that miserable fatty plant?

Auntie Jane has nice neighbours, cos they have this lilac

And this ceanothus.

No adventures today.  It was too hot.

But Mum has been a bit... um... anxious-busy... this afternoon.  Changing the water in the splashy pool thing.  She got cross with it. :( so I brought her some toys to cheer her up.  But even though she thanked me, and we played with them, she is still not happy-Mum.  I am glad I don't like splashy pool baths they seem very stressful. And stinky.

It doesn't look hot........all those nice shady spots.  How hot is hot?

I was wondering how you deal with emptying the water from the portable spa when it's in the house.......Are we having fun yet?

Hahaha!  I don't think that Cato and Tara's Idea of hot is anything like your idea of hot!  They just want to run around and bounce as normal, and then they get tired and hot and panting and want to lie in the shade.  Lovely in the shade.  But really quite hot in the sun.  We were trying to keep them off the hot paths, and walk on the grass.

The spa crisis was because the outlet pipe connection was leaking, and was stuck for a while, so I couldn't stop it from leaking.  But only onto the tiles, so just mopped it up with a towel.

Now we have the connections sorted, the water is dribbling out via hosepipe, incredibly slowly, probably because I have one of those expanding water pressure hoses.  And there isn't much pressure from a wee hot tub.  So it dribbles.  It is taking hours.

The 3rd issue is that while the water stayed perfectly crystal clear and lovely, the white inside of the spa has started to discolour - and it won't clean off.  Another few months and it is going to look like a tea stain! :bomb:  All my water tests have been spot on.  So it isn't some toxic build up.  Or even dirt.  I can only assume that it is the tub reacting to the chemicals.  Doesn't fill me with confidence for its longevity.  lol.

I love the picture of the hole looking up...

My favourite pass time Is to lie on the grass or sand and watch the clouds go by.. I love to see what shape, animal, or anything else the clouds look like.

Good job you have tiles on the floor ? Have you emailed the company about the discolouration?

There might be a special product made for cleaning the inside........but I bet you're right it's a chemical reaction.

Can't see any point contacting the supplier.  They are VERY clear in their literature that it is the buyer's responsibility to source and use the chemicals, and the chemical manufacturer's instructions should be followed to the letter, when using said chemicals.  Nice get out clause for them.  lol.

I would be very interested to know if this happens to other tubs, but didn't see anything in the reviews when I was researching...

Can't see it being a problem when using the tub - it is just cosmetic - unless, in the long run, the surface perishes.

And look at my bearded iris buds... can't wait for them to pop!

Re the hot tub.  Reading online suggests it may be metal stains from the water.  I can test this by getting some vit C tabs and making a paste, rubbing on and if it takes the stain off, then that is what it is, apparently.

So long as I know what it is, and it isn't going to kill the tub, or me, I can live with it! :judy:
