SUNDAY 5th June: 2 walk Sunday!
Tara:
We had 2 walks today! 2! it was ACE. And we had BURGER! although only a tiny bit. And the woman in the shop said we were like living teddy bears. And I sat on AuntieJane in the park and was taller than a Viszla! it was FANTASTIC!!!
Mum said it was one of the best weekends she had ever had, and she has had lots of weekends, cos she is OLD!!!
Cato can tell you all the boring stuff. The detail. But LOOK at MY MUD!!! we haven't seen any forEVER, and then we found all this. It was GORGEOUS!
Cato:
So you know about the mud then?
I will start with our nice walk with AuntieJane on Foxy. It was very cold windy, but sunny, and we had a good time. Lots of sniffs, and we met some nice dogs, although we didn't see Bella. But she is NOT my girlfriend, so you can stop saying that Tara.
We did the usual twice round FoxyPark, which is always fun and sniffy. I like the wildnerness bit best now, although Mum has started flinching when we run in the long grass.
Mum just saw one manky bit of cherry blossom hanging off a branch, so Phew! that obsession is over for the summer. But she is on to roses now.
This is um... (I can't remember her name!) she is bigger than us, and she REALLY wants to play.
We saw her last week too. She wanted to play with Tara, but all Tara did was lie down. I don't understand why she beats me up all the time, but lets everyone else walk over her!
Flowery bits.
White lilac
Mum says she loves all the different greens you can see.
and we met Boris and Betty with their Pug packmates, Frank and Tom. Mum says they are GREAT names.
and then we went home and had a snooze, until Dad got hungry. Really starving. And he wanted a burger more than anything in the whole wide world. And Mum didn't want to cook a burger. And we wanted burger too. So we all went out to the burger place that you can sit outside. It was a bit windy, but we didn't mind, cos, you know. Burger.
So Mum had chicken wings, and Dad shared his burger with us, but not until we had left. We wouldn't mind eating our burger under the table, but Mum is fussy like that.
Then we walked across the big road and the little railway track (you have been there with us. it is the one with the line in the ground where we played TruffleHound, and the big globe with our town in the middle of it).
And then we got to the Salt Marshes. We love them. Well, I love them. Tara just loves the mud. It is the only place you can find mud at the moment. So Tara was very happy, and Mum wasn't.
This is us hitting the beach.
We haven't seen skypuddles for ages. I have missed them. Tara had forgotten them, cos she tried drinking them. As usual.
We trekked and trekked. This is me noticing that Mum had fallen behind. Tara hadn't noticed. She just follows Dad.
This is us deciding whether to turn back or not. Cos it was a looooong way, and we were hot, and the sun was baking, and we had 3 drinks.
This is drink no 2. can you see how muddy Tara's feet are? They got MUCH worse.
And this is where we DID turn back. Tara wanted to cross, but Dad was wearing weird human trainers, so we couldn't.
I got very tired on the way back, and tried to go on strike. If I go on strike with Dad, he picks me up. I like that. But if Mum is there she just drops the lead and walks on, and I have to run to catch up. Mum says it wouldn't cool me down to get carried cos Dad is 'hot', but I wouldn't mind. I would rather be carried than walk when I get hot and tired.
We slept all evening, and Tara snored very loudly. And we got fresh pigs ears which we took to bed!
