FRIDAY 17th June: Green and cool
Cato:
Ooooh, we had a LOVELY walk today. The whole pack together. Big Lake Park. And it was lovely and cool, so I bounced and bounced and didn't flop AT ALL. (Mum: thermometer says 14-16 degrees, which is around 60 degrees F)
Mum says she has been wondering if I woz ill or something, cos I haven't been very active, but now she thinks it is just the heat. I don't like it when it gets over 20ish (70ish degrees F)
Look wot I saw:
Donkeys!
And look wot Tara ate! She pretended not to hear Mum. Hahaha!
I couldn't get through the fence, but if I had, I might have gone deaf too...
But then she got stuck, and couldn't get through the fence, and had to run along on the Donkey Side for ages and ages, and she was getting a bit silly about it, cos she couldn't get back to us, but Mum just said 'Serves you right!'
Anyway, she got back through the fence again eventually, and was very proud of herself.
It is lovely and cool and wet everywhere, and I stopped and drank a lot. I like that. It is better than drinking manky water out of manky water bottles. Real rain water is much nicer, cos it tastes of grass, and mud and wind and duck poo.
This sniff was AWESOME. I think a very lovely young lady widdled here. I may be in love.
See how busy I was? Sniffing and exploring and scouting - just like old times. It was sooo nice and cool.
Tara:
It was a nice walk, except for this bit. The big one is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Border Terrier, and the other is a Chihuahua Terrier cross. They were OK, but they were big and sniffy, and I woz a bit intim - intimid... scared. Mum and Dad stood talking to their Dad for ages. He said they were all bred from Working Dogs, and are VERY busy and strong willed, which made me a bit more scared. But in the end, they didn't kill me or anything, so I was OK. Cato actually played with them a bit, and he thinks I am making a fuss about nothing. But he isn't a girl, is he?
Cato is telling me to come away from the water, but I was being all cool and dramatic on the cliff edge. He is very cowardly about heights.
This is us setting off cross country and exploring new territory. I am checking that Mum isn't getting left behind.
Look at this muddy green tunnel we found! Isn't it exciting? And sniffy
Dad is walking funny cos humans waddle over mud. It is very funny to watch.
This is the tunnel exit. I want to go back soon. It was FUN!
Mum:
More of those lovely wild irises
Duckweed and baby bullrushes
yellow stuff. this is where we saw the swans and their signets last time. No sign today.
Now we are home, I keep itching... am wondering if I got bitten by mozzies somewhere along the route...
