Crinkly

Cato:

Pack walk!  Dad is going to walk with us all week, cos of his shift patterns, which is ACE!  So we took him to Foxy for a proper Pack Walk.

It is really starting to sniff of Autumn now.  Lots of leaves are frisping and going brown and stuff, and there are NO FLOWERS, so Mum is hardly piccing anything now.  Which is great.

This whole walk was at lunchtime, but BEFORE OUR BREAKFAST!!! so we was really hungry.  We kept trying to remind Mum and Dad that benches mean treats, but they didn't take much notice!

Mum says sorry about the light and shadow on this one.  It was so BRIGHT and SHINY that the shadows were really DARK, so it is hard to see this Schnauzer

This is us going into the Wilderness prickleknicker area.  Mum is going to inspect our knickers this evening, cos of all those seeds.

This is wot Dad calls 'wanton vandalism' which sounds horrible, doesn't it?  We don't actually know wot it is, but it makes a mess of fences, doesn't it?  But Mum says, 'look on the bright side, nothing is actually broken'.

As you can see, Foxy's hole is in use, and he is keeping is nice and clear.  Mum found a stick stuck down it last time, and she pulled the stick out.  I wouldn't want someone to push a stick into my bed.  Would you?

Tara:

Mum says she took this pic cos of the sun and shadow looking like ripples under water.  Yeah.  Right.  Wot she really means is she was taking a pic of me choosing my spot.  Good job she didn't pic a few seconds later!  haha!

FINALLY Dad stops for water and treats.  We woz HUNGRY!!!

This paw was VERY pushy.  He was friendly, but he really wanted to get in our knickers.  He wanted Cato's knickers even more than mine.

Mum:

I wonder if you remember the pic I took of all the different shades of green, showing the same trees?

Well now look at all the shades of yellow and brown coming through... and how the cherry tree foliage at the top of the pic is now sparse.

This one is for Julia. :)

The sun was at the perfect angle to catch the gradations of the palm fronds.

Dead and brown, yellowing with age, green with a hint of yellow showing they have been through at least one winter, and bright dark green for this year's growth.  Lovely.

and finally, will this bud blossom... or will it lose the race to the colder weather...?

For this tree, it is actually the berries that give the brown tint, all the foliage is still healthy green. lol

very droopy, tired buddleia foliage.

and can you see all the spiders webs?  Along the top edge of the hedge, and blowing whispily in the breeze?
