WEDNESDAY 14th December: Day out with Pops and Nana

Crinkly

Tara:  I got to sit on the car seat with Dad and Nana!  All the way there!  And all the way back!  Cato sat ON Dad's knee, but my spot woz better, cos I got fussed by Nana too!  It woz ACE!!!

We went to drop Pops and Nana in town, and then went on to My Favourite Walk in All the World!  Look!

DSCN4019_zpslp4goy0g.jpg

Lots of pics today.  This is when I woz duck hunting.  But they were all hiding. The mud was lovely and squishy, cos it had melty leaves all squishifying in it.

DSCN4024_zpszukhqcep.jpg

That is the bench that ate my foots last time we came here.  I didn't climb on it this time.  Cos I rememberered.

DSCN4026_zpsigsiztxk.jpg

Cato came to see wot I woz looking at.  It woz the tree in the river.

DSCN4027_zpsmhxynh2i.jpg

not this side.

DSCN4028_zpsdwsg14g3.jpg

this tree. see how it is in the river?

DSCN4029_zpsuw4rvqmd.jpg

This grass woz all sniffy.  There were 2 Spaniels running around barking when we arrived.  And I didn't want to meet them.  But I did want to sniff them!

DSCN4030_zpsblfkkiym.jpg

Mum woz doing her funny slippy walk along here.   She always does a weird waddle thing when it is slippy.  Why do humans only have two legses?  It is very silly.

DSCN4031_zpssabrc8xq.jpg

I wanted to go down here.  Best mud EVER!!!

DSCN4032_zpssrvcffx0.jpg

But Mum said no.  Too muddy.  That doesn't make sense, does it?  Can't have too much mud.  It woz LOVELY!

DSCN4033_zpsvyzk7pwo.jpg

Can you see me?  I woz looking to see where Mum woz.  She was sooooo slooooowwww.

DSCN4036_zpsr0lcrvvp.jpg

Do you like my bench?  Can you see my paw prints on it?

DSCN4037_zpso8etwpxg.jpg

And then we went up the mountain

DSCN4038_zps7vddkr5i.jpg

and along along along.  It woz fun!  I kept bouncing, cos Cato really needed to be bounced on, and Dad kept saying 'not near the edge, Tara!'  But I wouldn't have fallen.  Honest.  I am far too mountaineery and clever.  Cato nearly fell sometimes, but that is cos he fought back.  I wozn't really trying to push him over.

DSCN4040_zps8esc0syg.jpg

These are the funny golf people.  I wanted to go and say hello, but Mum got some treats out, and I sort of got distracted.  Dad said 'Pity, being hit over the head with a golf ball might have knocked some sense into her!' but I don't think so.  I don't like balls, so why would I want to be hit by one?

DSCN4044_zpsrkq3zo36.jpg

We went all along the mountain, and after a long time the sun almost came out.

DSCN4051_zpsenqqo6mb.jpg

DSCN4054_zpsnqwhfu7j.jpg

This is a FAB bench.  You have to go round the back to climb on it, cos the bench has longer legs at the front, and even Mountaineering Me can't jump that high!  I am looking for golf balls.  In case I decide I like them.

DSCN4060_zpswvfog0kt.jpg

Look how high up we climbed!  Proper mountains!!!

DSCN4061_zpsdmls6irq.jpg

Once we got down and back from the car, we went to find Pops and Nana and went for a pub lunch.  It woz yummy.  We dried off our under knickers on the nice warm pub carpet.  Much better than that hard cold Sausage Place floor.  And the nice pub lady brought us water and biscuits, except for Cato and the boring Gluten Free :(  but we did get some of Dad's burger.  It was a lovely burger.  All meaty and juicy and gorgeous.

Then I slept all the way home in the car.  And all evening. And all night.  Except for when Mum was skissoring my armpit.  It was weird.  I was snoozing on my back while she brushded me.  And then she started muttering about matts.  And then she got her skissors out!  I didn't like it!  So Dad had to come and snuggle me.  My armpit woz all minty smelling.  Mum says it was pub floor chewing gum.  She thinks.  I don't know.  I did kind of have a minty sniff.  But it is OK now.  Except for the hole in my armpit fur.  Will I catch a cold?

Glad you got to sit on "people seats" - as they are wayyyy better than "the back of the bus".  Shorty has a booster seat so he can sit and see out the window but sometimes when we're traveling (and Mama is not driving) he sneaks up front and sits on my lap while we drive up the road.  I always tell him...."Shorty, this isn't safe!"  But i usually let him get away with it for awhile because I enjoy it as much as he does :-)

I agree with you Tara, that place I'd just breathtaking. Fall has given it a whole new look and I really think it's even more beautiful....I loved all of mom's arty pictures and looked forward to the next as I scrolled the page. So glad you both got to go to your favourite  place and have fun in the mud...Sorry you were left with a pub souvenir in your arm pit...people are nasty beings sometimes and leave things in the wrong place.

Tara: We are going to sit in the People Seats ALL the time in our new car, Dad says.

He wants the boot (trunk) back.  And we will be sitting up where we can See and Sniff and stuff!  Yippee!!!

Mum says we are going to get special seats just for us!  I want a PINK one!

Oh Tara!  You are going to like booster seats!  You can watch all the people, cars and dogs go by while relaxing on your

own seat!

Tara......I think you should run away from home.

On the other hand maybe you could sit on top.....mountaineering, high jumper, rock climber that you are.

It's a ploy to keep the new car clean..........(it will fade - give it time.)

Tara:

Do you think?  I hope so.  If I get mud everywhere inside, then Mum wouldn't be worriting about clean stuff, would she?  And I could have one!

Mum says we can't have booster seats cos she wants to lift us in from one side, and it would hurt her back to lean over to the second seat. :(

I said I would climb up myself!  But Mum says I wouldn't climb into the booster seat.  I would take it as an excuse to climb everywhere.  Not fair!!!

If I did run away, can I come and live with you?  You would get me a pink booster seat, wouldn't you?  And sausages every day?

Yes baby girl.....you can come and live with me.  Shorty EVEN has a booster seat on the couch so he can relax/snooze in peace but if a dratted cat walks by or people walk by talking he can SEE them out of the window behind the couch without having to stand up!

We will get you a pretty pink one with a pink camo-fleece pad to make it even softer/warmer and to reflect your athletic prowess.

About the sausages.........hmm - I have high cholesterol you know so I try not to eat things like that.  BUT at the moment Shorty and Sophie are eating chicken giblets,heat/livers.  Next batch will be beef heart and then we're making bone broth from pork neck bones.  Would that work?

Awwww Cato and Tara, it looks like you had so much fun, in all that mud...

speaking of mud. I'm really honest here, I couldn't take my two anywhere near as much mud as that... Gosh no!! Lol

Stunning pictures Jo, I particularly liked the strange looking tree. ?

Tara......you tell Mom that as soon as Shorty is put into the car he hops on his booster seat and stays there (unless he tries to sneak up front with me).  AND that every toy breed dog I've put in the back immediately took to the booster seat!  And YOU....being part cat will want to get up there IMMEDIATELY!  Booster seats are wayyyyy cool.

On the other hand.......I suppose after your magnificent walks nearly every day, you are pooped when you get back to the car and will settle into a snuggle in the travel crate.  But I still think you should run away from home.....you can bring Cato if he wants to come but he's such a Mama's boy he probably wouldn't do it.
