Train to Chester

Cato: Hallo Aunties and Esme Now you are all back, I can tell you about our holiday day to somewhere called Chester, which is an oldoldold town, with a big stinky train that went from our holiday den right up to Chester. Chester is hot and big and hard on the paws.  But it was OK cos Mum and Dad carried me some of the way, and we could sit in the garden while Mum went inside the Cathedral and took pictures of boring stuff for you. This is the train bit.  It was a bit dirty an

Jasmine's baby picture album

This is her den in the corner of the front room.  We feed her in it.  The orange cushion is Cato's current humpy cushion.  It has 5 corners!  He likes the corners very much.  And orange has always been his favourite colour in toys.  So presumably that goes for sex toys too.  ;) This was at her littlest. This is what Tara thought of the whole Puppy Nightmare And this is what Cato thought about it: But eventually things improved.  Cato

THURSDAY 21st July: Lovely walk after heatwave!

Cato: Ooooh it was so nice.  The last few days have been soooooooo boring.  But Dad took us to Foxy, in the shade, before it got too hot, and we could run and run and run. Dad is my hero.  He got up early to take us for a walk.  AND he got up at very early to take me down for a wee.  I love him. This is me running.  Tara says I look silly.  But not nearly as silly as she does.  Cos Dad took us out before Mum had time to brush out her bedhead and put in a Thing.  You know, a PINK t

WEDNESDAY 22nd June: We got our walk!

Tara: Sniffs and romps and big dogs and Mum photographed my tummy, and EVERYTHING!!! Soooooo much better than being trapped in the house.  They won't even let me go outside and bark!  Spoilsports!  Mum gets in the splashy ppol and before she does she puts my lead on and ties me to the table leg!!!! Its cruel!  It is Tara Abuse!!!  IT is TERRIBLE!!!  All I wanted to do was go outside and bark at the monsters in the alley.  And the birds.  And Mrs Nextdoor with her washing.  And the Cycl

Mon 20th Mar: Hebden Bridge and pupcakes

Cato: It was a fun holiday, but it was a weird holiday too! It kept raining.  Mum says she has never had such a wet holiday, and a sleety one too.  although she has had more snow.  We only had a bit of snow.  We travelled all the way there, in the rain.  I don't mind long journeys, cos I sleep a lot.  We always know it is going to be a long one cos Mum sets up a second crate and we have one each.  That way Tara can't trample on me and sit on me all the way there. Mum says it was t

Bestest food day EVER!!!

Tara: Oh Aunties, yesterday my tummy was sooooo full.  It was FAB!!! It started off with breakfast.  Cos Mum was doing chicken wings, and she knows that I like the pointy triangle bits wot are on the end.  So she skissers them off for me.  There were some on the floor, so I hoovered them up.  Cato missed out cos he doesn't like raw chicken bits.  He is weird. So then it woz breakfast proper time.  And Mum puts our food in the bowls and stands back.  Only she made some kind of mist

Since we got home from G&G's

Cato: First we had to go and check out the beach and the promenade.  Cos you never know what might have happened when we weren't there to make it all be OK. Everything was still where it should be.  Including our Sausage Place  and everything sniffed OK   Tara: So then we went to Foxy Park to see if it was still OK there too... (after we had a spa day, and got bald.  except for my topknot, which I kept.  But Mum says it doesn't look like a to

Sat 7th Jan: Muddiest Mud EVER!!!

Tara: Yay!  My turn today.  And I get the MUD!!! First we had to go to the dump and get rid of lots of cardboard and stuff.  We were stuck in our horrible crate in the backseat, but it woz OK cos Dad sat in the back with us, cos the front seat had all cardboard in it.  That was fun.  I tried to lick him through the crate.  hahaha!  The dump sniffs are AWESOME.  But we weren't let out to sniff them properly.  Spoilsports. This is our first proper sniff when we got out of the car at

Sun 28th May: Foxy in the sun!

Tara: This is me looking beautiful.  Mum says. I had my pink bows in specially, in case I saw William.  And look, here he is.  I am playing it cool, and not asking him to chase me. This is what Cato does when he thinks we are going back to the car and he wants a longer walk. and this is the Rowan sprout that Mum has been piccing for you.  She says that each of those little blobble things are going to be big fat orange red berries when the weather gets all cold

SUNDAY 15th May: Auntie Jane and Foxy

Cato:  Another non-beach walk today.   Mum promises that we will get there one day, but Auntie Jane didn't know about the beach plans, and it would have taken longer... So we had a sausage cafe breakfast, with Tara whining.  Mum was NOT impressed.  It is all cos last time we were there there was a woman with a Jack Russell under the table, and the Jack got treats all the time.  And whined whenever they stopped coming!  We woz amazed!  we would NEVER have got away with that!  So this ti

THURSDAY 26th May: Flowerless park

Cato: Mum says to tell you that Summer has arrived.  Not really sure wot she means, but she says the park felt different today.  Like all the spring flowery stuff was over, and now there is the early summer lull before things like buddleia kick in. It didn't SMELL any different!   Anyway, here is wot happened There was a nasty crow-pigeon, but we ignored it, cos it is scary This is Bruno, he has put a bit of weight back on, and his Dad has been told off by the vet b

going on holiday

Cato: Dear Aunties, I am just writting to tell you that we are going on holiday tomorrow. Mum says we will have a great time, and it will be all sniffy and exciting, but I am worried.  Tara says I worry too much, but all the packing and stuff is very tiring, and we have to set off very very very early in the morning.  I usually have a nice lie in, and I won't get one.  Mum says we can all sleep in the car, and then wake up when we get there.  She is going to sleep too. Sun 12th Feb: It stopped raining. For an hour.

Cato: Aunties, it was wonderful.  Mum and Dad had been watching the rain in the garden.  And when it stopped, we all got our leads and stuff and went out the front.  And guess what!  It had stopped there too. So we went down the street.  We didn't go in the car, cos nasty MrWeather tricked us with that one yesterday.  So we stayed out on the street where it was dry.  I bet if we had gone in the car, it would have been raining when we got out!  There were lotsandlotsandlots of sniffs.

MONDAY 16th May: Lake walk with Dad

Cato: First I have to tell you about my exciting Garden Defence this morning.  It was brill!   There was a strange monster at the end by the gate.  Grey and dangerous looking! It had obviously just come in, and was planning its attack!  So I rushed over to stop it, and cornered it where it couldn't circle round me!  And I barked and barked and barked until Mum and Tara came to back me up, then I held my ground while Mum faced the monster down.  Once she had it under control, I che

Tara: Mum says that we can go back on the main beach soon!  On Sunday!!! With Auntie Jane!! But we wanted to go on the beach TODAY, so we had to go to the North Promenady thing.  And Dad came too, cos nobodies working today.  It was ACE.  Look: I beat Cato up really good Don't his foots look silly?  Hahaha! FRIDAY 21st October: Tunnel and skies

Cato: Oh Aunties, I nearly lost Mum!  It was terrible!  But she found me.  So it was OK.   I was off snuffling and exploring, and I know the way, so I might have gone a bit ahead. But she and Tara went down the tunnel, and I didn't see, cos I was sniffing amazing sniffs.   And I know that Mum called me, cos she always does.  But I kind of didn't hear.   So when I looked up and didn't see them, I ran on, cos I thought I had got left behind.  Only when I got ro

SUNDAY 27th Mar: Easter Bunny hops

Tara: Aunty Jane and Mum were telling us about The Easter Bunny.  So we looked and looked and looked on our walk in Foxy Park today.  But we didn't find him.  And we didn't find his eggs, either.  So I practiced my Bunny Hops and Bench Hops and Spring Bulb Trampling as much as I could, just in case we see him later and he wants to play.  Practice makes perfect, Mum says. Oh, and I LIKE the new bed!  I get a bedroom all to myself, and there were toys and chews and everything all r

Thur 16th Mar: Holiday beachification

Tara: Oooooh Mum has been so sneaky!  She has been having a Special Secret and she didn't tell us!  We are having another mountaineering holiday!  And it starts today!!!! It is SO EXCITING!!!! It started with a new sausage place.  Not our usual sausage place.  Dad said he felt disloyal, and he prefers the old place.  Mum didn't mind.  Cato liked it cos he could Starling Hunt.  And I didn't like it cos a big black Lab came and looked at me. This is me waiting to see if my

Sat 11th Nov 17: Sniffy alley

Tara: My turn!  Dad has to go and do his shifty work today really early - like just after lunch.  So we had to take him and Mum out for our walk this morning.  It was sniffy road walking too, not running-about-on-grass, cos Dad needed to get some bread stuff for his tea at work.  But I love my Dad and I didn't mind.  Besides.  There were CATS!!! This is cat 1. we couldn't see it, but we could sniff it!  Cato did his Hunting Thing.  All quivery and pulling at the leash.  And

SATURDAY 23rd July: Stir Crazy

Tara: No walks!  Too hot!  Hate it! Cato is either sleeping or chewing one of MY pigs ears.  Mum is too hot to snuggle.  Dad is doing Windows 10 installation stuff. Will we ever walk again? They won't let me bark in the garden! They won't let me go for a walk! Python wrestling is boring! and there aren't any killer attack monster plastic bags to find!

FRIDAY 8th Apr: Foxy walk with Dad

Tara: Mum still feeble and coughing, so we went walking at Foxy Park with Dad.  But still a bit tired after yesterday's mega walk with Aunty Kim, so only went round once. But we made sure Dad stopped at My bench and gave us treats.  We woz fading away with exhaustion by then! And Cato got muddy foots!  Hahahaha! Mum says she is looking forward to walking with us tomorrow, and maybe we will go out for breakfast sausages too!  Can't wait!!!  It has been far too long w

Blindsided

Just been watching an episode of Elementary.  There was a scene in a cat cafe, with a male tabby sitting bolt upright proudly  recieving worship. It was Sidney.  Size, posture, head angle, markings.  Hit me like a bolt form the blue. of course, it wasn’t him.  As soon as he turned his face towards the camera his face was wider, and the eyes narrower. but my goodness, do we ever get over it?

WEDNESDAY 6th Apr: Sun and a Dad walk!

Tara:   WE got out of the house!!! it was great.  We walked all the way to the end of the road, and then twice round the dogfield.  It was sooo nice.  Dad doesn't mind me pulling a bit, and there are lots of gates and front gardens and posts to sniff, and then we can bounce in the field.  This is the first big sniff: and this is the second which Cato missed!  Haha! this is when we woz bouncing and Dad was doing the slow-coach thing.   Cato: You wanted to s
