MONDAY 26th September: Still donkeyless

Cato: See - they still aren't here.  the grass has grown.  the fence is down.  it is very worrying This is Bella.  She is very pretty.  And very young.  And I liked her, but she wouldn't stay still long enough for a proper sniff. And the water is back!  It went away and got very low when it was hothothot, but now it is back again.  Tara trampled about on the edge.  Of course.  And tried to push me in.  Of course. Dad said it might be muddy!  So we look

TUESDAY 27th September: Foxy boring foxy

Tara: I want to go mountaineering on holiday again!  This is boring.  Holidays are exciting and interesting and I have castles to climb!   We went round Foxy park today, and it was sooooooooo dull.  See: Dull   (Mum: all those elderberries have been eaten!  but who by...? Dull Dull.  Well, OK, maybe a bit interesting. This is Jack. Did I tell you that Jack once cocked his leg on Mum's foot!  hahahaha!  I probably did.  But it is so

SUNDAY 25th September: Sleepy Sunday

Mum: Absolutely nothing happened today (except for me doing holiday laundry! lol) Cato slept the day away, not interested in anything except for a few morsels of cooked chicken, which he ate from my hand.  He slept very well though, and his tummy seemed to have improved a lot. Tara slept the day away, sprawled beside me on the sofa.  Mind you, she WAS interested in food. We didn't go for a walk, and neither of them seemed to miss it.  Apparently we wore them both out with all

Holiday: Friday (Warkworth Castle)

Tara:   Another of my Mountain Castles today.  It was FAB!!! (Mum actually it was within a mile of the sea, but it was on a bit of a hill) I climbed ALL over it, and Cato didn't.  Haha!  This is how humungous it was - and builded all for me, like you said, Aunties. There woz even a moat! This is wot it looked like inside the gate bit.  There were school kids running about being very noisy and clumpy.  But we had to keep Mum and Dad on the lead, as usual, for safety, yo

Holiday: Sunday (Alnwick food festival)

Cato: Today we went to a town called Alnwick to a bookshop that lets paws in.  It was HUGE and very boring, except for the woman who gave me a great chin rub, and a man who gave Tara an ear rub.  The books were very dull! Mum says it is the best bookshop ever. Inside an old train station and with a cafe and armchairs and stuff. Then we saw chickens and geese and sheep and stuff at the Food Festival in town.  Human food, not paw food. This is us meeting the chicken

Tara: Me Today!  Cato is asleep.  Snoring.  All floppy and worn out!  Hahahaha! Look where we went Cliffs and castles and mountains and EVERYTHING! and of course, I climbed EVERYTHING!  See: There were big rocky things Mum said there wouldn't be mountains, didn't she?  She was WRONG!!! hahahaha! Dad kept trying to stop me climbing, but he gave up in the end.  Cos climbing is irrisistibubble

Holiday: Tuesday (Lindisfarne)

Cato:  My turn today.  That is seaweed on either side of the road.  Its a causeway thing, mum says.  There was lots of water.  And splooshing.  But we got there without having to swim. This is another one of Tara's castles.  We didn't have to go round this one, though Mum and Dad did, one at a time, while we had fights and ate rabbit poo while sitting on the grass outside.  That was fun. Mum says this is the view from the top. Aren't the people diddy?

Holiday: Getting there

Cato:   Oh Aunties, it was a longlonglong car drive!  We had to stop three times and have a widdledrinktreat.  three times!  And Tara had a bit of a tizz when Dad went and got us burgers, but I was OK cos I knew he was coming back.  We sat on the grass and all had burger.  Although Mum and Dad's bits were huger than ours. Then we arrived!!!  It was weird.  Cos nothing sniffed right.  But the beach is good, and our den is good.    this is our fireplace.  It is made of something called M

THURSDAY 16th September: Misty woods

Tara:  Mums on holiday!  But I am NOT!!! Not fair!!! We had to wait til Mum finished work yesterday before we could walk.  On account of her holiday starting then.  But I thought we woz going mountaining, on our hols!  But she says we still have to get to the mountains, and that won't be til Saturday, so she is on hol but I am not. But we went to Bear Woods in the Mist today, so it was OK.  Damp sniffy and misty.     Cato:  It was a good walk.  Dad came too, and we wandered a

WEDNESDAY 14th September: PingPong with Dad

Cato:   We had to walk early, on account of hotness today.  So we took Dad down to PingPongPark and showed him all the sniffs.  It was still misty cos of the earliness, but the sun came through after and was hothothot. Tara:    This is the park.  You've seen it before.  But it hasn't sniffed all misty before.   Cato:  Dad!  come and see this!  It is REALLY interesting. Tara:    This white fluffy stuff is where someone brushed their dog.  I like the thought of Mum groom

TUESDAY 13th September: Steaky hotness

Mum:  Hottest September day here since 1911.  I kid you not.  Luckily I was stuck inside on the computer all day, but it was far too hot for lunchtime walkies.  So the little princess has been a bit restless (understatement) and the little prince has been very chilled and relaxed. Mr C developed a yearning for one of his huge steak-fests, so we went out to a steakhouse pub after work to sit outside in the evening sun, me drinking pints of water, Mr C drinking pints of Carling, dogs wistfull

SATURDAY 10th September: WetWetWet

Tara:  Mum said we would have a big walk today.  I wanted to do Holiday Mountaineering Training.  But it is all wet and soggy and horrible.  Dad tried to make me go out to the bin with him, but I wouldn't.  I stood in the door and watched him get wet!  Hahaha! Cato:  No walk today.  We were going to have an extra long sniffy walk with Mum.  She said so.  But now I am snoozing all day instead.   Maybe tomorrow, with AuntieJane?   Mum:  no walk

Autumn Photoshoot

Today we saw real signs of the changing of the seasons. Some of these pictures have come out like Rembrandt oil paintings (slightly fuzzy, and look best when you stand further away), and some are crisp and clear.  I think it is the difference between the Auto Focus, and the zoom where I control the focusing.  I definitely need more practice at these closeups! I was wandering round thinking 'gosh, there is nothing to shoot', but then I noticed how subtly beautiful the light is, and how

MONDAY 12th September: Imprisonment!!!

Tara: Oh Aunties, it woz AWFUL!!! Nice MrBoilerQuote man came round after breakfast.  And Mum and Dad GRABBED us!  and shut us in our crates!!! And the whole time he woz here, I whined and Cato yodelled and creaked!  All we wanted woz to say hello, and play, and bounce, and show him our toys, and the garden, and climb on him, and sniff him PROPERLY, and lick him, and make sure he gave us ear rubs, and stuff.  Yet Mum and Dad (even DAD!!!) imprisoned us, and ignored us, and Mum even sai

Cato: Oooh Aunties, today we met lots and lots of friends and new friends.  The sun was out, the grass was wet, and we had a great walk.  Of course, Mum was doing her pic stuff, but we were so busy meeting and sniffing and socialising with Auntie Jane that we didn't mind the piccing at all.  It was a FabFabFab day! Most important of all, Look!  Foxy is BACK, and has been Autumn cleaning his den!  It is all sniffy again, and neat and tidy.   We didn't meet Daisy this week   b

FRIDAY 9th September: Big Lake, donkeys missing!

Cato: So Dad took us to the big lake park, cos it was so lovely.  Sunny and windy and cool.  And we hadn't been there in AGES.  We had to leave Mum home on the computer  but she says we can have an extra long walk tomorrow to make up.  She has been missing our walks a lot! So it was sooooo sniffy!  This is that first VERY IMPORTANT SNIFF as you set off.  Always tells us all sorts of IMPORTANT SNIFFY THINGS. And we know the way, cos this is our favourite rooting. B

TUESDAY 19th July: Monster patrol

Tara: Monster!  Monster!  I saw it!  I saw it first!!!  Monster!!!!   Cato: We just found a Monster!  It was very exciting.  The back door was open, cos of the hotness, and we went out for a patrol, and we saw it, flapping dangerously round the garden under the table!  So we barked and barked til Mum came to investigerate.  We would have got it, of course, only she came too quickly. It was a Monstrous plastic bag!!!  Flap! Flap! I have to keep going out and checking

THURSDAY 21st July: Lovely walk after heatwave!

Cato: Ooooh it was so nice.  The last few days have been soooooooo boring.  But Dad took us to Foxy, in the shade, before it got too hot, and we could run and run and run. Dad is my hero.  He got up early to take us for a walk.  AND he got up at very early to take me down for a wee.  I love him. This is me running.  Tara says I look silly.  But not nearly as silly as she does.  Cos Dad took us out before Mum had time to brush out her bedhead and put in a Thing.  You know, a PINK t

WEDNESDAY 7th September: Windowcleaner defence!

Cato: We've had a busybusybusy day!  Mum couldn't walk us again, and Dad had to go workstuff, but it is a good job!  If we had gone out, we might not have been around to mount the WindowCleaner Defence Manouevre!  It was very exciting. The first we knew of the attack was when we were snuggling with Mum on the sofa while she ate her lunch.  There was terrible banging and clanking and dangerous shadows on the front window!  I ran to the front door, and Tara climbed on the table behind th

This is me sitting waiting for my sausage.  I have Bed Head, cos Dad rushed us out really early before Mum could do my hair.  Mum says I still look cute though.  I am sitting on the table bench.  Hahaha! SATURDAY 3rd September: Beachy clamberings

Cato: Pack walk!  It was ACE!!!  And not too hot.  All grey and overcast, and it started to rain just at the end, which was nice and cool.   We had a consult and decided that we needed some beach after no proper walks for DAYS, and with the Mad Joggers taking over The Big Lake Park every Saturday morning, it had to be the Dune Beach.  Yay!!! This is us setting off. Just to the right is a BIGBIGBIG hedge of roses, with convolvulus growing through it, and hips and flowers

TUESDAY 12 June: Catching up

Cato: Mum had a busy week, on account of doing Mum stuff upstairs.  Sorting and cleaning and wardrobing and stuff.  The walks were once with Mum and three with Dad, and one day off cos of rain.  But we can't remember all the details, cos they were AGES ago now, so Mum said we could do afew blog thingies at once and catch up all in one go, so sorry if this is very long. Tara doesn't understand wot Mum means, cos she can't remember wot happened yesterday, let alone 3 days ago, so I will

SUNDAY 17th July 2016: Sausage Sunday

Tara: Sausages 2 days in a row, for Breakfast!  Mum says it isn't to be encouraged, and now we have to go a whole week without sausages.  Not fair! But we did see Auntie Jane, and go for a Foxy walk.  We always do Foxy on Sundays, cos of Aunty Jane.  It was fun.  Hot but fun.  Of course, Cato wimped out, as usual.  I will show you the good bits, then Cato can do the boring bits.  Sounds fair, doesn't it? Here I am, near the end.  3 sprouts today, but a bug got in them, and I had t

FRIDAY 2nd September: Stir crazy

Tara: I've been chained to the desk for centuries!!!  I can't help it if I am bored, can I?  And going outside is a good Thing To Do When You Are Bored isn't it?  And when you go out, you just HAVE to bark, don't you? Anyway, Mum chained me ALL the TIME for DAYS (Mum: a couple of hours each day, Wed, Thur and Fri) cos it has been too hot to walk. Not Fair!!! Then when Dad came home, I was sooooo excited I had to be all barky again, cos I can't help myself, and then he c
